In 5th Place we have Bridget Jones
What British girl could possibly ignore this character who is a reflection of so many women. But she is presented so honestly that she makes us realise that it is okay that you're sat at home by yourself drinking wine and watching TV in some classic pyjamas. Admittedly I've only seen the films, but the book is on my "to read" list.
In 4th/3rd Place we have Angela and Andre from the fantastic french film Angel-A
Angel-A is one of my favourite films of all time (if you haven't seen it, watch it) and the character of Angela, quite frankly does not give a shit. Plus her legs are so long you can't help but look.
Then we have the character of Andre who secretly hates himself but acts like a total kiss ass to try and make himself look good. Throughout the film he goes on a journey of self discovery and come the end, he learns to be honest to himself. I find him to be a very admirable character, it takes a lot to accept yourself.

2nd Place belongs to Jo March from Little Women
I've pretty much loved her since I was a child. Her ambition and hatred of the intense patriarchy by which she must abide is so strong, against the typical she fights until she has her first novel published. Part of me always wanted to live in those times just so I could be a Jo March.
In 1st place we have the one, the only Elle Woods
So yeah, I can't talk along to the entirety of Legally Blonde including expressions, tones and gestures. I don't actually need a copy of it to watch it because I can play it in my mind on cue. I am that addicted. Me and Elle had our first encounter when I was 12 years old and we haven't parted since. I read the book after watching the film and I must say, I had the film set in my mind too much to enjoy the novel, which is a shame.
What I love about Elle Woods is that she doesn't pretend to be someone she's not. And she doesn't let the stereotypes of her being a blonde who loves pink getting in the way of her career.

What characters do you admire most?
